  27.      For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall ^2 bring back
  28. the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations, and will
  29. bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will execute judgment
  30. upon them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have
  31. scattered among the nations: and they have parted my land, and have cast lots
  32. for my people, and have given a boy for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine,
  33. that they may drink.  Yea, and what are ye to me, O Tyre, and Sidon, and all
  34. the regions of Philistia? ^3 will ye render me a recompense?  and if ye
  35. recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your ^4 recompense upon your
  36. own head.  Forasmuch as ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried
  37. into your temples my goodly precious things, and have sold the children of
  38. Judah and the children of Jerusalem unto the sons of the Grecians, that ye may
  39. remove them far from their border; behold, I will stir them up out of the
  40. place whither ye have sold them, and will return your ^4 recompense upon your
  41. own head; and I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the
  42. children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the men of Sheba, to a nation
  43. far off: for Jehovah hath spoken it.

  52.      Proclaim ye this among the nations; ^5 prepare war; stir up the mighty
  53. men; let all the men of war draw near, let them come up.  Beat your plowshares
  54. into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am
  55. strong. ^6 Haste ye, and come, all ye nations round about, and gather
  56. yourselves together: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, Jehovah. Let
  57. the nations bestir themselves, and come up to the valley of ^7 Jehoshaphat;
  58. for there will I sit to judge all the nations round about.  Put ye in the
  59. sickle; for the ^8 harvest is ripe: come, ^9 tread ye; for the winepress is
  60. full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

  72.      Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!  for the day of Jehovah
  73. is near in the valley of decision.  The sun and the moon are darkened, and the
  74. stars withdraw their shining.  And Jehovah will roar from Zion, and utter his
  75. voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but Jehovah
  76. will be a refuge unto his people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel.
  77. So shall ye know that I am Jehovah your God, dwelling in Zion my holy
  78. mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass
  79. through her any more.
  80.  
  81.      And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down
  82. sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah
  83. shall flow with waters; and a fountain shall come forth from the house of
  84. Jehovah, and shall water ^1 the valley of Shittim.  Egypt shall be a
  85. desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to
  86. the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
  87. But Judah shall ^2 abide for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to
  88. generation.  And I will ^3 cleanse their blood, that I have not cleansed: for
  89. Jehovah dwelleth in Zion.
